Calder tinkers in Man Ray's darkroom
HSC year: 2004, ARTEXPRESS year: 2005
Expressive form: Photography
The inspiration for my body of work came from the techniques employed by the artists Man Ray and Alexander Calder. The images combine photographic negatives and 'drawings with light’. They were initiated by constructing a wire sculpture that became transformed by light and shadow. Layering and repetition were important structural devices.
