The first dive off the block, the sound of the gun that triggers a rush of adrenaline. The pool becomes an obsession. Combining landscape photography with the sound of an encapsulating rush of water and the textures of the pool exposes the consciousness of a dedicated athlete. Repetition becomes habit which becomes instinct. The pool stops being a place of exercise and becomes ritualistic. The black line, the lane ropes, the stroke and the smell of chlorine became a vital part of my life as a swimmer.
