This Archibald Prize-winning portrait by William Dargie of Leonard Charles (Len) Robson (1894–1964) is now in the collection of Shore (Sydney Church of England Grammar School).

A Rhodes scholar, mathematician and rower, Robson had been appointed headmaster of the private school for boys in 1922, eventually retiring in 1958. An influential educator, he co-founded the Headmasters Conference of Australia and sat on the Board of Secondary School Studies.
