Wendy Sharpe Self-portrait (artist menaced by cupids)

oil on canvas

210 x 175 cm

In this self-portrait, Wendy Sharp has depicted herself in her studio. Cupids – symbolising love, longing, mischief and sensuality – interrupt her concentration. They knock over paint, swing on curtains, scatter drawings and make it impossible for the artist to work.
