Tom Polo Carbon copy

acrylic on canvas

182 x 138 cm

I use painting to explore the performative relationships of people within physical and psychological space. In Carbon copy, two abstracted figures create an ambiguous cavity of their own, defined by their leaning heads and gesturing arms. While one form is quite graphically depicted, the second figure appears almost veiled and obscured, suggesting a sense of transformation or disappearance from view.
