Kiata Mason The artist's table

The artist’s table is from a larger body of work that revolves around collections of objects in the home environment. It depicts the composition for a still-life painting that I am working on, and shows the haphazard nature of my working space – not surrounded by the industrial white walls of a defined studio but working in and amongst a collection of everyday objects, including bananas from the backyard, art books, painting equipment and a collection of music that was the soundtrack to making the work.
