I’m in the final stages of building a home and studio and hope it will be a beautiful place to live and work, but at the moment it is a mess on the way to being something. It got me thinking about our built environment – the good and the bad, and how a building that one person can regard as great architecture and urban planning, is hated by others. Blues Point Tower on Sydney Harbour polarises people. It is both loved and loathed. But, to borrow a line, some buildings are more equal than others.
