Peter Jones Kandos

acrylic on board

20 x 25 cm

This painting is from my memories of time spent in Kandos, a small town in New South Wales. The shapes and colours are a distillation of the energies I remember from being in that landscape. The intent of my work is to express the feeling generated by an environment rather than a precise record of its visual information.

I love getting lost in the experience of painting, it’s like being in a timeless dream-like state and then at the end of the night there is this object that didn’t exist before, sitting there in silence looking back at me.
