Luke Sciberras Buffalo country, Katherine, NT

Buffalo country takes me back to a journey through the grasslands and along the escarpments of Katherine in the Northern Territory. A wild place, entirely unpredictable and immensely powerful, this is a landscape where people and animals are pitted against each other and are at once enmeshed. The dynamic is just as complex between European and Indigenous inhabitants. Here is a painterly response reflecting something of this place of harmony and of paradox.
