Lucy Culliton Monaro/Ando

Monaro/Ando is a big studio painting I made from a small study. The view is of Rosemount, a large fine-wool sheep property at Ando on the Monaro, NSW. The property once belonged to the Kimbers, old family friends. My family spent a year away from Sydney in the 1970s and we lived there in the old shearers’ quarters. I was eight at the time. The country made a strong impression on me. Nine years ago, I moved to Bibbenluke, a locality near Ando. I love this place.
