Marcus Wills Third person

This painting is based on scenes from an open-world video game set in a fictitious location. The landscape in much of this virtual place seemed vaguely familiar to places I remember from my youth – a small town in western Victoria sandwiched between the Big and Little Deserts.

Rather than a grammatical third person, the painting is intended to be third person in the context of the video game, where the player sees themselves from an elevated distance. It is the viewer who is outside the picture seeing themselves in the orange truck driving up the road.
