Frances Evatt The last swim of summer

It has become a family tradition to go to the beach every weekend and swim. We go throughout the year, summer through to winter. I chose to draw my sister after her last swim for the summertime. I photographed her first as she’s not a patient creature who stays still for long. She looked miserable about the shift into the colder months. The clouds were looking particularly moody as the season began to sweep into autumn. I have used a range of colours to depict the essence of light and shade and to create a portrait of my little sister drying herself after a swim.
