Honourable mention: 16-18 year olds

Yehoshua Shellim My saba (grandpa)

Age 17

16-18 year olds

His fine lines testify to storms weathered, surviving cancer, diabetes and two strokes. His smile reflects his spirit, kindness and compassion. I pictured him in his crisp blue shirt and suspenders, answering ‘I’m very well today, thank you’, between a dribble, yet in the most dignified and resolute manner. I drew Saba with a goatee, a symbol of his youthful and positive spirit filled with faith and hope. Saba is always there for me, despite him being the one in so much need, deep down I know that I need him much more.
