My depiction of ‘who I am’ examines what makes a person special. My ties that cannot be ripped apart, ignored and suppressed, with the world inevitably haunted by trespassing afflictions. Pollution striking my face, polluting my very person; protection, connection, privacy forsaken; my bleeding arms reflecting the bleeding sea of the Pacific; the future displaced, today’s dystopia. Why did I choose me? To represent this generation of displacement. To show the constellation of today’s and tomorrow’s face and portray how my personality of hope and optimism is contagious against ambivalence.
