    MENINSKY was born in the Ukraine but his family emigrated to England shortly after he was born. He studied at the Liverpool School of Art then worked in Paris in 1911 before returning to study at the Slade School in London. He taught life drawing at the Westminster School of Art from 1920. There were subsequent working trips to France in 1922 and 1937. Meninsky was an accomplished and prolific figure draughtsman, and his paintings in oil, gouache and watercolour consist mainly of landscapes and figurative compositions.
