  • About

Pacheco’s earlier works, including this print, 'Between Mitcham and Croydon – The heritage of the aged' 1977, alludes to her initial observations of England after she first arrived in the country to study. The work portrays unpleasant looking figures in a darkness which touches on her own experience of the harsh, cold place she had arrived in. The brutality of the new country was not in its politics but more so the environment. 'The banquet' 1977, also portrays ominous figures, and is a subject that she would develop later in her career in sculptural form.
