  • About

Although Li Jin is known for his humour and irreverence, Southern beauty is an intimate painting that captures a subtle moment of introspection. A woman in a purple qipao sits alone outdoors at a table set with a flower, three cherries and a cup of tea. The inscription beside her is from a poetic couplet by the modern philosopher Kang Youwei (1858–1927) that celebrates the beauty of nature.
