About
Tuckson’s oeuvre comprises over 10,000 drawings. This extraordinary number attests to the vital importance drawing formed in his artistic practice. Tuckson’s progressive and dynamic visual ideas were often initiated and developed through the rapid repetition of a series of drawings in pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolour, gouache or mixed media. Untitled (TD7072) is one of Tuckson’s later charcoal drawings; it has been drawn intuitively, with economical lines of charcoal sweeping across the surface of the paper, as part of a continuum of drawings that repetitively explore line, form and mark making.
