Chelsea
(England 1744–1769)
Plate
- Location
- 18th c European porcelain
- Further information
The brown anchor mark was used in the gold anchor period on pieces which have no gilding. The decoration of this plate is not of high quality and suggests a date at the transition to the gold anchor period. An advertisement of September 1759 is evidence that the factory felt itself urgently in need of talented painters at that time.
