This exhibition of works from the Gallery’s collection highlights some key themes and artists in Australian art from the early 20th century through to the 1970s.

Favourite works by Grace Cossington Smith, Margaret Preston, William Dobell, Russell Drysdale and Arthur Boyd are featured, as well as recent major acquisitions such as Ian Fairweather’s Last Supper 1958 and Sidney Nolan’s First-class marksman 1946.

Alongside are a selection of pop art and hard-edge abstraction paintings from the 1960s, which have seldom been displayed before.
