Muriel Pornett Bon

pencil and crayon on paper

34 x 28 cm

This portrait by Muriel Pornett of her brother, Ulrich Horst Holm Pornitz (1892-1957), known as Bon, is thought to have been the one exhibited in the 1935 Archibald Prize, even though it is a drawing rather than a painting. Bon worked at various jobs, including as a bookkeeper and a jackeroo.
