The artist Lyall Trindall painted many portraits of his wife Florence Trindall (nee McDonald) over the years, including several that were hung in the Archibald Prize. This portrait is believed to be the 1944 Archibald work. The others were in 1927, 1928, 1932, 1941 and 1955.
