Points of view in Aboriginal photography

This exhibition features works from the Gallery’s collection that interrogate the tenuous balance between power and participation, the historical legacies of which continue to impact Indigenous Australians. Rather than providing answers, the works offer provocations. What if the figures in colonial photography were active agents rather than complacent subjects? How different would our nation be if Indigenous leaders were acknowledged as sovereign heads of state? What if Indigenous people were in the majority, how different would our nation be?

From where I stand features works by r e a, Brook Andrew, Michael Cook, Genevieve Grieves and Darren Siwes
